Dates, Hours and Tickets

The 54th Annual Kansas City Sportshow will be held at the H. Roe Bartle Hall from January 9 through the 13th, 2008. Hours for the event are as follows: Wednesday 5-9pm, Thursday 2-9pm, Friday 2-9pm, Saturday 10-9pm and Sunday 10-5pm.

Adult admission is $9, kids 13-15 get in for $5, while children 12 and under are welcome for free with an adult. Admission includes a free year subscription to one of the following publications: Yachting, Motor Boating, Field and Stream, Outdoor Life, or Boating Life which are valued at $7. An offer is available thorough the show website for a discount admission on e-tickets. Purchase 3 e-tickets from the site and receive a fourth for free.

Show Attractions

Besides being able to walk through new model RVs and boats and exploring products from hundreds of vendors, visitors to the sportshow will have access to many special features, including:

• The 2008 show welcomes a new attraction with cooking demonstrations from guest Marty Koch. The cooking demonstrations will run each of the 5 days and include instruction for cooking on a boat, campfire and campground cooking.
• Rattlesnake Round-up is a special educational demonstration by expert, Larry Battson. People of all ages will have the opportunity to learn about a variety of reptiles.
• Remote Control Boat Race Competitions
• Visit the 40-ft. aquarium where there will be fishing demonstrations by Gary Hain.
• Take the kids to the Willow Creek Trout Pond where they will have the opportunity to try out fishing and possibly catch a fish of their own.
• A variety of seminars are available each day on topics such as: Electronics, Taking Kids Fishing, Walleye, Shed Hunting Dogs, Angling in the Amazon, Team Catfish, Crappie, and more.
• Contests and giveaways are held throughout the show, with the largest prize being $5000 which goes to a buyer of a new boat or RV.

Where to Stay

Trailside RV Park is a Good Sam Membership accepting campground close to Kansas City on I-70 with a 5 star rating in Woodall's. The park is open year round and has all the necessary accommodations plus more. Children will love the pool and playground while adults will appreciate the laundry facilities, clean restrooms and pull-through sites with large shade trees.
